Aerial thermography of PV modules comprises the modern inspection tool for medium and large-sized installations. With aerial thermography, hot spots in PV panels caused by diode defects, soldering failures, shading, etc. can be identified up to 10 times faster than ground-based inspection.

In this way, a comparison of the module temperature throughout the facility is accomplished at essentially the same time of day, under the same temperature/sunshine conditions and at the correct angle, so as not to receive reflections from the environment.

Aerial thermography is performed by specialised staff with ITC level 1 thermography certification and flight operation certification from the Civil Aviation Authority. The drones are all insured and have a UAV registration number.
