Mobile PV Lab Advanced

The Mobile PV Lab Advanced is a certified mobile laboratory for testing PV modules. It is installed on a trailer of suitable dimensions, allowing testing to be carried out directly at the installation site.

The Mobile PV Lab Advanced is suitable for testing PV modules manufactured from 2015 to the present.

Kmetrics is the exclusive representative in Greece of the German company MBJ Solutions GmbH the supplier of this equipment.

The MBJ Solutions GmbH is a global pioneer based in Hamburg, Germany, specializing in the production of this specific laboratory equipment, which it has been developing and advancing for over 15 years.

With the Mobile PV Lab Advanced, specialized and certified laboratory tests of PV modules are conducted in order to certify their condition.

Specifically, with the Mobile PV Lab Advanced, the following are performed:

    • power measurements (I-V test) of the modules, using an A+A+A+ LED flash unit with a long flash time that exceeds the requirements of Ed3 classification A+ in terms of spectrum, long-term instability (LTI), and homogeneity. The flasher is certified by the TÜV Rheinland certified LED light source (IEC 60904-9 Ed.3). It has repeatability for Pmax measurements, flash to flash < ±0.2% (absolute). It also features fast data acquisition with 16-bit / 50 kHz fully synchronous configurable measurement modes for high-capacity modules such as HTJ and TopCon.
    • electroluminescence test (EL test) for the imaging of potential issues in the module cells, with a resolution of up to 30 megapixels, and power supply up to 150 VDC – 40 A.
    • Diode testing – connectivity check
    • Hi-Pot testing - Isolation. Dielectric withstands test according IEC 61730-2 / MST16. Testing voltage 6 kV, testing for current below 50μA. Ground continuity test according to IEC 61730-2 / MST13. Testing current 30A, resistance measurements between all 4 frame parts.

With the Mobile PV Lab Advanced, up to 300 panels can be fully tested per 8-hour shift, regardless of weather conditions.

For each tested module, a certificate is issued that includes the full results of the inspections, highlighting any defective cells, along with photographs from the electroluminescence test of the modules.
